A warm welcome to Howard's Restaurant

Whether for business or pleasure, relax in the comfort of our stylish dining room with its wood panelled walls, glass ceiling and theatre view of the kitchen.

The ambience of Howard’s Restaurant is a world away from the bustle of the city centre or the roar of the terraces, yet is located right next to the Leeds United stadium and only a five minute drive from the city centre.

Since opening in 2010, Howard’s reputation has been built on unpretentious food prepared to perfection. Only the very freshest of local seasonal ingredients from Yorkshire and northern region producers go into the dishes prepared by Head Chef Simon Dyson and his team.

Howard’s a la carte and daily specials menus are designed around the best of each season’s specialities from tender Yorkshire asparagus, succulent seafood, game and roasted dale-raised meats, to mouth watering desserts and creamy full flavoured cheeses.

Tailored menus are available by special arrangement, and with advance notice we are more than happy to cater for special dietary requirements.

Howard's was recently named the 2011 Best Newcomer by Oliver in the Yorkshire Evening Post for its varied lunch and dinner menu.

Our motto of "Quality - from our kitchens to your plate" is presented in a varied menu using the very best of fresh locally sourced ingredients prepared by our accomplished Yorkshire chefs.

Restaurant Manager: Philippe Lopez

Philippe's love for good food and service started in a small village in France, where he learnt from an early age how to produce excellent food from locally sourced ingredients in the family run restaurant ‘Chez Philippe’.

From then on he moved to Paris to enhance his cooking skills and worked for a restaurant with a known reputation of training chefs to an extremely high level.

Philippe then travelled to England and chose Yorkshire to learn English and experience the renowned food and hospitality. Once settled, Philippe opened his own restaurant, Le Bon Appetit which he ran very successfully with his wife for 21 years.

After a brief spell back in France, Philippe missed Yorkshire so much that he returned. He was then hired as Howard’s Restaurant Manager due to his love, care and knowledge of local produce and his outstanding customer focus.

Head Chef: Simon Dyson

Our creative young Head Chef Simon Dyson was born in Huddersfield. His already impressive experience has been gained in several highly acclaimed Yorkshire establishments where his talent and dedication has achieved and maintained 1AA and 2AA rosette status.

With his sights firmly set on rosette status for Howard's Restaurant, Simon works closely with local and regional farming and fishery producers, and bases his a la carte and specials board menus on the very best seasonal ingredients.

Between preparation and cooking Simon enjoys talking to guests and using their feedback to ensure that his dishes continue to be designed with customers in mind.
